You’re naked without these four London items.

I would rather go out naked in London than not having these 4 items, how about you?

1) Oyster card: This card will take you further than your university degree and it’s cheaper. The oyster card is a travel card that works on the tube (subway), overground (train), and buses. You can purchase an Oyster card on the TfL website. In case you find the website a bit confusing (which it is, at least for me), you can buy a card at any underground or overground station. Someone suggested on social media using your bank card as a travel card, I recommend not to, especially if you don’t live in London. Why? Long story short: bank card transactions can be difficult to track, and you might get charged incorrectly if you forget to tap out on the underground or overground or for any other reason. In this case, it would be challenging to identify the issue and get the problem resolved, and you might have to pay bank fees for each transaction. But if you’re feeling bold, give it a try, and then we can meet for a coffee afterward so you can tell me how it went.

2) Get a reusable fabric bag: You can get any bag, but this one from Waterstones (not an ad) seems perfect to make you blend into the London scene. You can also use this bag to carry your lunch, your life dramas, or your dreams and hopes for the future. Believe me, that bag fits everything. If you think that suggestion sounds stupid, that’s because it probably does, but it works in making you look like a seasoned Londoner.

3) Consider getting a Revolut card for your overseas card spending and bank transfers, as it offers low fees and excellent management features. The app works great in Europe and the UK, and you can easily freeze and unfreeze the card to ensure its safety. If you want to know more about this card or are interested in getting one, feel free to use my referral code. I'm not advertising it, just sharing an honest tip, as I had Airbnb guests who got one and loved it.

4) Londoning guide: you knew this one was coming, but this guide was created to help you avoid feeling lost or unsafe in London and to assist you plan your days without endlessly scrolling through social media to find the best places in the city.

The mainstream stuff: an umbrella (a small one, please), Google Maps (City Maps app is better), pack an extra layer of clothing and download the Uber or Free Now app to easily get a cab (taxi) at any time. Remember to pack comfortable walking shoes as well as shoes suitable for going out to more upscale places, and the same applies to clothing.

That’s it for today, in case you’re looking for unique things to do and great restaurants in London, have a look at the latest Londoning’s March and April guides.

See you soon!

What can I tell you?

Blogs are becoming obsolete as people's attention spans have shrunk to the size of a peanut. I too suffer from the same issue as I started this blog without any idea of what to write about while browsing Instagram, sharing memes on Facebook, and with 0 clues on what to write about. However, I didn't want to just offer you a mere guide and send you on your merry way to explore London. You deserve something of insurmountable value: London local’s wisdom.

Before we begin, let's clarify a few things about this blog:

1) This blog is specifically for tourists, just like the entire website. Why tourists? As an Experiences Superhost for Airbnb, I realized that tourists are the ones in need for accurate and reliable tips. While TikTok and Instagram may provide helpful tips, every post tends to feel repetitive, inauthentic, and soulless, with the annoying music, the even more exasperating voiceovers, the colorful bold bright font, and the tendency to overhype everything. This blog aims to whisk you away from all of that "noise," and offer you a safe, wholesome and "cosy" space for London tourists, with honest recommendations and suggestions to help you explore the city like a local.

2) I will be writing in the same manner that I speak, which might be confusing at times. However, this allows me to write from my heart and with ease.

3) The blog posts will be usually short and sweet. Neither you nor I have the time to read “blog essays”. The goal is to write fun, entertaining posts without “beating around the bush”.

4) The next blog post will talk about “the four items in London that you would feel naked without”. It's a good topic because this city is quite expensive, and if you're not careful with your spending, you might end up having to sell your knickers to afford your next meal.

And that’s it for today, in case you’re looking for unique things to do and great restaurants in London, have a look at the latest Londoning’s March and April guides.

See you soon!

Blog Post Title Two

It all begins with an idea.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
